Science Unstained welcome you to a public meeting at Edinburgh University to discuss fossil fuel funding of culture, arts and science and the important role sponsorship campaigns are playing in the fight for climate justice.
Edinburgh: (Un?)Sponsored by Climate Chaos
Public Meeting, Thursday 11 April 7-9pm
Edinburgh University St Leonards Land (Room G4), Holyrood Rd. EH8 8AQ
The Edinburgh Science Festival’s announcement shows that fossil fuels are on the way out – and we don’t have to rely on oil companies to power our future.
That change comes on the back of years of creative and inspiring campaigning which have rewritten the script on climate justice activism and won globally significant victories at the Tate Gallery and Edinburgh International Festival.
Join Science Unstained and Jess Worth of the visionary ‘BP or not BP’ and Liberate Tate campaigns in England to hear about:
- Why does it matter when our cultural institutions are funded by fossil fuel companies?
- How could our arts, culture and science be different?
- What do the incredible successes at the Edinburgh Science Festival and Tate Gallery tell us?
There will also be a chance for those who are interested to plan future activities in Edinburgh.
The venue has step free access. Contact email@example.com with any queries.
Booking is not required but you can register your interest on Facebook.
